 Canon-PowerShots A Canon PowerShot is a good pocket camera. Today, Canon released four new PowerShot models that have a slight differences compared to previous PowerShot compact cams.

Canon PowerShot SX230 HS

The first compact camera offered by Canon is the PowerShot SX230 HS. The device comes with in-camera GPS capabilities, due to which the camera is capable to store longitude, latitude, and altitude data in a photograph’s EXIF data to overlay images on a map interface.

The camera has most of the specs, due to which the PowerShot SX210 IS has become one of the highest-rated pocket cameras. The model features full manual controls equipped with shutter- and aperture-priority options, 14X-optical-zoom lens, automated settings used for casual shooters and a range of scene modes.

It is also enabled with a dedicated video record button, “Movie Digest” mode used for long live performances and Smart Auto mode for still and video shooting.

The PowerShot SX230 HS boasts of a 3-inch LCD screen. The price tag of camera is $350.

Canon PowerShop Elph 500 HS

The Elph 500 HS is a touchscreen camera that can remind you a hybrid of the PowerShot SD3500 IS and SD4000. It sports F2.0 aperture as well as 4.4X-optical zoom lens.

The camera is offered with touchscreen-based controls that can be used for menu navigation and focusing. According to Canon, the camera is enabled with touch-to-focus capabilities. Unfortunately, there is no support for touch-controlled shutter release.

Like other new cameras, the Elph 500 HS features the new 12-megapixel HS System CMOS sensor. It also boasts of extensive scene modes for video and stills as well as revamped Smart Auto mode.

The camera will be available in different color options, such as pink, brown and silver. It will be offered for $300.

Canon PowerShot Elph 300 HS

The PowerShot SD 1400 IS is replaced by the PowerShot Elph 300 HS. It comes equipped with the 12-megapixel CMOS HS sensor. The camera features a 2.7 inch LCD screen. It is also equipped with various scene modes. The PowerShot Elph 300 HS will be offered in silver, black and red.

Canon PowerShot Elph 100 HS

The PowerShot Elph 100 HS is another solid compact camera. The model replaces the hot-selling SD1300 IS. The camera features a 3-inch LCD screen. It is also offered with the same 12-megapixel HS CMOS sensor. The model comes in silver blue, gray and orange. The price of the PowerShot Elph 100 HS is $200.
