No one was expecting that LG would come up with something spectacular that’d be a total head turner. The company has probably found a new home in the smartphone market because of its soon to be released smartphone. It’s a one of a kind device, which is already boasting of Nvidia Tegra 2 CPU, a dual core processor that none of the smartphones have in them, currently.
On top of that, LG slapped the new smartphone with a unique display technology, which is said to be far better than the iPhone’s Retina Display and Samsung’s AMOLED technology. Known as the Optimus 2X; the new smartphone will be no less than a luxury device in terms of price and features. However, the sad part is that for now, LG is keeping a tight lid on this subject. When it is due for release? Hmmm, let me just say that you can relax for now because the device will probably get released in Summer 2011 or maybe during the next holiday season.
Let me quote the posted information that LG has touted out so far:
• “The Optimus 2X utilizes a 1GHz dual-core Tegra 2 processor, which is based on ARM’s Cortex-A9 with the addition of a mobile GeForce GPU, as part of its system-on-a-chip design. Various tablets have featured the Tegra 2 chip but the Optimus 2X is the first cellphone to utilize it.”
• “It’s because of the GPU that LG makes the extraordinary claim that the Optimus 2X can both play back and record 1080p video via MPEG-4 and H.264 codecs. You shouldn’t expect cinematic quality, although the camera does feature an 8MP camera on the back for snapshots, with a 1.3MP camera on the front for video calls. 8GB of storage is included, which will probably be needed to contain any video captured.”
Probably, through the Optimus 2X, the company will be setting a new standard of quality and performance in the smartphone market. Let’s wait and see… shall we?
