Buying a laptop is a careful process that should be made in specific steps. Computers are expensive and testy so you dont want to get anything but the best for your money.

1. Brand -

Start by looking online. Or different stores in your area, see what the difference is between the brands. Which brand will give you more for your money. But make sure all sales people are 100% clear that you are only window shopping. Most sales people with computers are promised a commission per sale. This will make them drop the bomb on you if they’re desperate enough to make a sale.

2. Hardware -

You want to look for the most reasonable hardware for the computers price.
For example, most computers made right now are being produced as having anywhere between 80 and 200 gigs in the hard drive for a laptop. Along with pentium 2 or higher. Graphics cards should be exceptional depending on what you want.
If your looking for a gaming computer or graphics artist, you will most likely want a Nvidia graphics card.
These are standard things to look for if your planing on paying $500 or more for a laptop.

But if you cant afford that, you can get deals on refurbished laptops with less upgraded hardware. But if your planning on paying more then $100, don’t settle for some 10gig laptop that looks like its from the stone age. Their not even worth that.

3. Don’t let the sellers trick you!

If your shopping bring someone you know personally with some real computer know how if your not sure yourself. You will find at times even the sales people cannot be trusted on really advising you to what you are looking for if it means a few extra bucks in their pocket.

4. When you think you found what you want…

Don’t buy it yet, hop online and check the reviews and customer notes on that brand of a computer. More often then not, if theirs allot of people online complaining about the issue, you may be complaining with them.

5. So once you find something perfect.

Buy it, use it, enjoy it. Just don’t drop it.

You should also investigate sites like the Dell coupons page to see what discounts are available before paying full price at a local retailer.

And one last comment. ALLWAYS make sure you get at LEAST. A 1 year warranty on your computer. Wouldn’t want to not be covered if they give you something with issues.
