The Casio Exilim EX-G1 is an ultracompact 12-megapixel camera. Actually, the design of the device is not so perfect. Maybe someone will expect more features from the camera as well as better photo quality. Probably, it is not a great camera, but one can say that it is a good rugged snapshot device.
The camera comes in black and red color schemes. You will notice that the G1 is different in terms of the look. It is a small camera that is appreciable by many users. The camera is able to support microSDHC as well as microSD cards.
The size of controls is accessible, but still people who have big fingers may experience some troubles. There is Best Shot button on top of the camera in order to access to shooting modes. You are also able to find the shutter release as well as power button. The remaining controls can be found on back of the camera. Among them you are able to see a vertical zoom rocker, record button for movies, Play button, Menu button as well as directional pad available with a Set button.
In order you need to access to the setting of camera, just use the Menu button. You will not have problems with the system as it is straightforward and is easy to navigate.
It comes with almost the same shooting options as the Casio’s Z33. It includes over 20 scene types, among which one can find standard options such as Landscape, Portrait as well as Night scene. You can also take advantage of Snow and underwater modes.
As for shooting performance, it is mixed. But it can be characterized as slow. The camera needs 2 seconds to start up and capture an image. Actually, it not a downside, but shot-to-shot times are considered to be long.
The taken photos are good in case of small snapshots. The G1 offers good and accurate colors. In fact, the Casio Exilim EX-G1 has a good design but the maker should focus on features of the camera.
